![]() In the original, Daisuke notices that the truck seems to be headed towards Hikarigaoka and notes that it’s where Taichi had first met the Digimon and where there’s supposedly a gate point in the dub, when Wormmon asks Davis where he thinks the truck might be headed, he surmises it must be Highton View Terrace because it’s where Tai and Kari first met the Digimon and that it’s an entry to the Digital World. In the dub, the passerby taken as a shield by LadyDevimon concludes she can’t be dangerous because she’s “too pretty”. In the original, in regards to the couple on the roller coaster, the boy is named Atsumari. In the dub, Ken cries out in pain when Oikawa scans the Dark Spore, implying that it actually is causing him acute physical pain in the original, we don’t know about the full degrees of it (other than Ken being upset emotionally and him being knocked unconscious). In the original, Ken uneasily answers to Oikawa when he asks to take the Seed “is that a question, or just an order?” in the dub, he taunts him by saying that he’s as mad as they come. In the dub, Oikawa says that the Dark Spore had found “fertile soil” when growing inside Ken (in the original, he just says that the Seed should have sprouted by now). In the dub, it’s not revealed yet what Oikawa’s doing in the original, Archnemon refers to the “transplant”. In the original, Shuu complains that if they get caught, he’ll have his license taken away in the dub, Jim says that he’d been borrowing his dad’s car. says that they have a connection, “a bad connection”. In the original, Takeru says that SkullSatamon and LadyDevimon are obviously not allied with Archnemon and Mummymon in the dub, T.K. In the original, Oikawa says that he could say Archnemon and Mummymon are a part of him (referring to how it’s later revealed he used his own DNA to make them), but he doesn’t want to spoil them too much in the dub, he says that Arukenimon and Mummymon are powerful, but he doesn’t want to sing their praises too much or it’ll go to their heads. The shot of the email in Japanese is retained and untranslated in the dub, despite it being cut in the dub version of episode 23. In the dub, what Oikawa says to trigger Ken’s memories has completely different contents from what was given as the email text in episode 23. In the original, Oikawa says that he’s a co-worker of Ken’s father (which we also see in a later episode since he’s in Ken’s father’s workplace’s records) in the dub, he says that he “was” a friend of Ken’s father and that they had a “working relationship”, which implies that they for some reason are no longer working together (again, disproven in a later episode). (His name isn’t actually reversed, incidentally all dub materials put his name as Yukio Oikawa.) In the dub, Oikawa (incorrectly) introduces himself with Asian name order, “Oikawa Yukio”, making it confusing since prior to this all names in the dub had been given in given name-surname Western order. ![]() In the original, Tailmon directly says that she can’t fight LadyDevimon because even though she’d like to fight alone, she’d lost her ability to become Angewomon in the dub, she says that she needs Hawkmon’s help because she’s not strong enough as she is. In both versions, Ken accuses Archnemon/Arukenimon of breaking her promise in the original, Archnemon (correctly) states that there wasn’t actually a promise made, while Arukenimon confirms she’s breaking it and says that it doesn’t matter. The prior episode recap in the original directly refers to Demon and his minions being from the Dark World.ĭavis expresses disbelief at Jim being Joe’s brother on the grounds that he’s “kinda cool”. Writer: Masaki Hiro (original), Rebecca Forstadt (dub) Original title: “Deadly Struggle with the Dark Digimon” (暗黒デジモンとの死闘 Ankoku Digimon to no Shitou)
